Cookie Policy
This page explains the cookies and browser storage SwiftTools uses. It matches how the site actually behaves: no non-essential cookie or script loads before you consent to it.
How consent works here
When you first visit, a banner offers three choices: Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Customize. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key swift_consent. Nothing is sent to our servers. You can reopen preferences anytime via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Cookie categories
| Category | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remembers your consent choice (swift_consent) and your light/dark theme (swift_theme) in local storage. Required for the site to remember your preferences; contains no tracking identifiers. |
Always on |
| Analytics | Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_<ID>) for aggregated, anonymized visit statistics with IP anonymization enabled. Loads only if you accept and the site owner has configured an Analytics ID. |
Off until accepted |
| Advertising | Allows Google AdSense scripts to serve ads in clearly labeled placements. Loads only if you accept and the site owner has configured an AdSense client ID. Ad providers may set their own cookies subject to their policies. | Off until accepted |
Managing cookies
- On this site: use the "Cookie settings" footer link to change your choice at any time.
- In your browser: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential storage will simply reset your theme and consent choice on each visit. The tools still work.
- Do Not Track: because we load nothing non-essential without consent, a DNT signal is effectively honored by default.
Third-party cookies
Google Analytics and Google AdSense set cookies only after consent, per the table above. Their use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not control third-party cookies beyond gating them behind your consent.
Two more third-party requests load on every visit and do not set tracking cookies: Google Fonts (the site typeface, loaded from Google's servers) and, on PDF tool pages only, the pdf-lib library (loaded from the cdnjs CDN). Like any web request, these reveal your IP address to those providers, but they do not track what you do inside a tool.
