About FAQ Schema Generator

Search engines can't read your mind, but they can read structured data. FAQ schema is a small block of machine-readable markup, JSON-LD, written in the schema.org vocabulary, that tells Google exactly which questions and answers appear on your page. Pages with valid markup become eligible for rich results, where your questions can appear directly in the search listing and take up more screen space.

This generator builds that markup without you touching code. Add a row per question, fill in each answer, and it produces a valid FAQPage block you can copy or download as a .json file. Paste it inside a script tag on the same page where the FAQ is visible, and you're done. Rows can be added and removed freely as your FAQ evolves, and nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.

Two things to get right. First, the markup must mirror content that's actually visible on the page, marking up questions nobody can see is against Google's guidelines, and the markup will simply be ignored. Second, valid schema makes you eligible for rich results; it doesn't guarantee them. Google decides when and how to show them. Keep answers concise, update the markup whenever the on-page FAQ changes, and run the output through Google's Rich Results Test before publishing.

How to use FAQ Schema Generator

Tips for best results

  • Only mark up questions and answers that are actually visible on the page, hidden-content markup gets ignored.
  • Keep answers concise, two to four sentences tend to display best in rich results.
  • One FAQPage block per page is enough, don't duplicate it across pages.
  • Paste the script tag in the head or body of the FAQ page; placement doesn't matter for JSON-LD.
  • Validate the output with Google's Rich Results Test before publishing.
  • Update the markup whenever you change the on-page FAQ so the two never drift apart.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use the output?
Paste it inside a script tag of type "application/ld+json" on the page that shows the FAQ, the same page, not a different one. Placement in the head or body both work.
Does this guarantee rich results?
No. Valid markup makes you eligible, but search engines decide when to show rich results. Think of it as buying a ticket, not the prize.
Is my content uploaded?
No. The schema is built in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
Can I add FAQ schema to a page that has no visible FAQ?
No, the markup must reflect content visitors can actually see. Adding hidden questions violates Google's guidelines and the markup will be ignored.
